Bestival push the boat out for birthday

BESTIVAL bosses will be pushing the boat out to celebrate the Isle of Wight event’s tenth birthday next year — announcing the fancy dress theme will be the naval inspired HMS Bestival.

Fans’ favourites the Cuban Brothers will curate an extravagant opening night party, celebrating ten years of Bestival mayhem with a night of special guests and Bestival anthems.

Curator and HMS Bestival skipper Rob da Bank said: "All the nice girls love a sailor and all the boys love a mermaid.

"Think deckhands, anchors, beach parties, Moby Dick, tattooed ladies, Titanic, shipwrecks, Hawaii, Treasure Island, rum bars in scuzzy ports, message in a bottle, the crow’s nest, sea legends, monster breakers and tall-tales of life on the ocean waves.

"Nautical but nice! There’s no better time to join the good ship HMS Bestival and our trusty crew of merrimakers than now with Crimbo approaching, so get your Golden Early Bird Tickets and prepare to set sail me hearties!"

Event organisers have announced that early bird tickets for 2013 — on sale until January 1 — will be kept at 2012 prices. A payment plan to allow people to pay by instalments is also available.
