NORTHAMPTON Exiles Cricket Club limber up for their new season this Saturday with a friendly against Polytechnic at the Clowes Ground. The following day the season proper gets underway with a trip to Hertford in the first round of the Abbot Ale Cup.
Their league season starts on May 2, with the 1st XI in action in Division Two of the Hertfordshire Cricket League and the Middlesex Sunday Cricket League.
The Winchmore Hill-based club concluded their centenary celebrations in style with a three week tour of Barbados at the end 1997.
The 34-man party Exiles returned home with a respectable record of two victories out of six games against tough opposition, some of which included ex-West Indian Test players.
