Philip beat stiff competition to claim the first prize with his review of Judy Blume's book 'Are you there God? It's me Margaret.'
The competition to promote reading among teenagers attracted entries from pupils at the borough's schools.
Philip, age 12, collected a £20 gift voucher to use in the Virgin Megastore which was presented to him last Thursday by Richmond's chief librarian Jane Battye.
