THE 14th anniversary of the disappearance of Island teenager Damien Nettles is to be marked by a huge billboard image, to raise the profile of the campaign to find out what happened to him.
Damien’s mother, Valerie, said: "The family has been given the opportunity to rent a billboard in the heart of Newport to appeal for information.
"The family of Damien have donated funds to cover the cost of this project and local businesses on the Isle of Wight have helped to fund the balance. The billboard will be displayed for ten days from October 27.
"The billboard will contain the local Crimestoppers phone number and Damien’s website, www.damiennettles.com, where there is a link to the family e-mail.
"We hope this will encourage anyone who may have knowledge of what happened to come forward to help the family find a resolution to endless grief.
"Damien is much loved and missed."
He disappeared at night on November 2, 1996, from Cowes High Street. There has been no confirmed sighting since.
