THE steaks will be raised tonight (Monday) at a fundraising dinner in support of a charity cycle ride.
Isle of Wight duo James Potter and Richard Payne are due to cycle from London to Paris in September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and their efforts will receive a boost tonight thanks to Phileas Foggs in Ventnor.
A London to Paris menu has been created by head chef and owner Mark Randerson, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
"We are delighted to help support this amazing challenge and our team at Phileas Fogg's together with some of our dedicated suppliers, Majestic Wines, Five-a-Day and Island Foods have all contributed to the fundraising effort to help make the evening a success.
"We are honoured to help support the work that Macmillan Cancer Trust do and give James and Richard a great send off," he said.
Different dishes will mark each stage of the pair's journey:
London to Calais - Pie, mash and liquor
Calais to Abbeville - Seared wild mushrooms, toasted brioche and hollandaise
Beauvois to Paris - Steak Frites, Cafe de Paris Butter
The evening will conclude next door at Ventnor Arts Club with live acoustic music from young blues duo Beeno.
