Enfield Rangers 1 Everett Rovers Green 1

Charterhatch Lane, Enfield.

Everett Rovers went into this game as underdogs, with Enfield Black winning all their games so far this season.

Everett were looking for a fast start and went very close in the first two minutes with a shot just over the bar.

On ten minutes, Mitchell Weiss opened Rangers up with a short pass to Oliver Brooks, who scored the first goal.

Rovers tried hard to score a second, but the Rangers keeper made some great saves.

Rangers scored the equalizing goal on the stroke of half time, showing how good they are on the break.

In the second half the game went end to end with both teams looking for the win, and it was a shame the final whistle had to be blown but all good things come to an end

Lewis Maclead was voted man of the match.

Everett Rovers: Jack Davis, Jake Flynn, Paul Gibbens, Lewis Maclead, James Reynolda, Mitchell Weiss, Oliver Brooks. Subs: Josh Austin, Ross Orbell.

Edson Vascon de Gama 7 Oxhey Utd 0

Edson Park, Challenge Cup.

A bright crisp December lunch time fixture, the magic of the cup in the air and Edson returned emphatically to winning ways with the visit of Oxhey Utd to a packed Edson Park.

Following on from last week's reversal in the league, Edson made some changes with Louis Challis making his first start in goal and Ricky Veale partnering Daniel Casey in defence for the first time this season.

Any thoughts of a hangover from last week's first reversal were quickly dispelled as Edson started with some swift quick passing attacks.

The recent problem of failing to convert chances was again in evidence as at least four opportunities went begging before Michael Harriman finally relieved the tension by netting twice before the break.

Changes at, and shortly after, the interval were made and Edson pushed on strongly against an Oxhey side, whose second goalkeeper made some good saves after the first goalie retired; injured bravely diving at the feet of the Edson forwards.

Yusef(2),Mattie Walsh,Joel and Joseph Casey added to the score in the second half as Edson found the target time and time again.

A brave performance from Oxhey, well supported by their travelling fans, was not enough to hold Edson in this mood. Edson need to rediscover this sort of clinical finishing against Red Division opposition to convert draws to wins.

Once again wholehearted performances by all and the home supporters wound their way home as happy as any London club to have played Man Utd lately.

Nascot Wood Rangers 1 William Morris Colts 0

League - Blue Division.

A valiant all round team performance from Nascot, saw off a strong Colts side.

In defence, midfield and in attack the teamwork resulted in a deserved win and Josh Armstrong yet again provided the winner.

William Morris dominated the first few minutes but were pegged back by a strong midfield, dominated by Phillip Thomas. Craig Valentine working the left flank beat the right back on three occasions twisting and teasing him into the challenge.

On 15 minutes, Craig released a low cross that Armstrong met at the near post, chipping the ball neatly past the keeper. This was his third attempt at beating the keeper, an earlier great shot brilliantly tipped wide.

The game then became a midfield struggle, with Nascot proving strong when needed and playing good passing football to break forward.

Mathew Morgan played solidly on the right flank, with Hussaan Ahmad assisting Thomas in the middle.

The defence was strong and Harry Rutledge1s performance at right back in the first half was brilliant, smothering out the attacks and cutting across when the through ball beat the central defenders.

The second half was also tough but Nascot dominated and broke through several times. Ahmad shot from the edge of the box but watched the ball go wide.

Alexander Johnson also broke through twice and managed a 25 yard shot that beat the keeper but unluckily crashed off the cross bar.

Ronnie Hays was also unlucky not to be on the score sheet having been put through and looked to have had scored a good goal, only for it to be ruled out for off-side.

William Morris had their chances but were restricted to sending through balls that Robert West and Tony Delany dealt with, by moving the game up and catching them off-side. West did particularly well in reading the attacks.

The last five minutes saw the Colts push forward for the equalizer and Daniel Youngs was brilliant in goal, smothering a one-on-one bravely. Adnan Ahmed on the left in the first half and then a good strong performance from Alex Combridge, stopped the right flank attacks.

All in a good all round performance from the whole team. Phillip Thomas easily deserved the man of the match award for his hard work and ability to be in the right place at the right time in both defence and attack.
