Blood trail leads to arrest

ISLE of Wight Police have arrested a man following a burglary at a Newport antiques shop.

Police were called at 7am today (Saturday) to the shop on Grays Walk, believed to be A & M Antiques and Collectables.

A police spokesman said there was a large amount of blood on the scene where the offender had injured themselves.

They that said police followed the trail and a man was arrested close to County Hall. The spokesman said the man had been taken to hospital by police where it was thought he could be suffering from a broken leg.
