Blues and jazz picnic will raise cash for St Catherine's

VENTNOR Rotary and St Catherine’s School are joining forces to stage the second Summertime Blues and Jazz Picnic later this month.

The event takes place at East Dene, Bonchurch on Sunday, August 24 and includes New York based jazz pianist, Keith Ingham and rhythm and blues singer, Aydenne Simone.

Keith is making a special trip to the Island to perform at the event and will be teaming up with Aydenne and trad jazz specialists and Island favourites,the Unity Stompers.

Keith Pratley, president of Ventnor Rotary Club, said:"We believe we have put together a fantastic line-up for the event and there will be something for everyone to enjoy from rhythm and blues to trad jazz. Last year’s event was a great success and we hope people turn out again to support this charity event."

Gates open for the event at 3pm with music between 4pm and 8pm. Tickets are available at St Catherine’s Charity Shop, Newport, The County Press Shop, Newport and Seasons, Ventnor.
