Bluetit family brings home the bacon

A bluetit leaves home on a foraging trip.

A PAIR of bluetits have a real nose for house-hunting.

They sniffed out a ceramic pig, created by Andrew Dowden in his Apse Heath garden, as a perfect nest-site.

Andrew’s wife, Lisa, said: "It appears the nostrils of the pig’s snout are the perfect size for the birds and we have seen much activity as they go in and out with items to build their nest inside."
