A BOAT with two anglers on board was rescued by Bembridge RNLI lifeboat on Sunday afternoon.

The 24ft boat, named '28 Mondays' was fishing near the Nab Tower when it started taking on water, which disabled the engine.

The anglers called Solent Coastguard and Bembridge lifeboat was launched at 2.30pm.

After ensuring the two fishermen were safe, it pumped out the water and towed the vessel back to Portsmouth Harbour, the fishermen's home port at 6.15pm.
