A RIB has been stolen from Ventnor, prompting an appeal by Isle of Wight police.

A police spokesman said: "During daylight hours on Wednesday, April 16, persons unknown stole a grey Avon inflatable tender from its storage area on the cliff top at Ventnor.

"It is believed that the offenders carried the already inflated tender away from its storage area towards Atherfield.

"The Avon is 10ft long, with grey tubes and a plywood floor. It has several features that are unique to this particular boat making it easily identifiable.

"The owner has modified it to suit his needs. These include an orange cowl on the top of the bow and plastic rod

holders on the transom.

"It is named T/T Blueriband in white lettering."

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting crime number 44140134184.
