Body found at Ryde Harbour

Ryde Harbour, Isle of Wight.

A BODY has been found at Ryde Harbour today (Monday).

An Isle of Wight police spokeswoman said: "Police can confirm they are investigating the discovery of a body found in Ryde Harbour at 12.23pm.

"The body has not yet been formally identified, and a post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the cause of death."

Police have confirmed the body was that of a man and the discovery was not being linked to any missing person's enquiries at this stage. Next of kin have yet to be informed.

*The death is not being treated as suspicious.

The body was found in the water by a member of the public.
