Body of missing man was found by friend

A FAMILY friend found the body of missing Isle of Wight man Sam Perkis, an inquest opening has heard.

Today's (Monday) hearing at the Isle of Wight Coroner's Court heard that Mr Perkis, who went missing on Sunday, October 21, was found in his car in Playstreet Lane, Ryde on Wednesday by a family friend who had been involved in the search for the missing father of two.

Paramedics declared Mr Perkis, 25, of Pell Lane, Ryde dead at the scene.

Police have said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

The inquest was adjourned to a date yet to be fixed, while the coroner awaits the result of toxicology and histology tests.
