Bonfire concerns spark fire service call

AN UNATTENDED bonfire resulted in Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue being called out early this morning (Friday).

Crews were called to Fort Warden Road, Totland, at 5.10am after an eye witness reported seeing fire in the distance.

A fire spokesman said the large bonfire was extinguished by crews who later left the scene, but said they would return to reinspect the site.
