POLICE arrested a 13-year-old boy on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent following an accident at Sandown Bay Academy yesterday (Thursday).
The arrest followed an incident when another boy was injured with a craft knife during an art class.
The 13-year-old was later released with no further action after an investigation found no criminal offence was committed.
A police spokesman said officers were called to the school just after 10.30am yesterday (Thursday) after a 14-year-old boy sustained a minor wound to his abdomen. He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital where he was kept under observation as a precaution.
*Cath Scallon, vice-principal, said: "It was an accident, there was no falling out involved.
"It was very evident from both boys there was no intent. It wasn't play fighting.
"They were working and he moved his hand round."
