As a member of the Irish community, I would like to thank Neville Lawrence for respecting the wishes of the Ethnic Minority Communities in Croydon,by not allowing himself to be used by people anxious to cover up their real agenda.

Croydon deserves and need its own independent Race Equality Council. When is the Labour Group going to deliver?

The elected steering group was given a mandate to re-establish a Race Equality Council, to represent all ethnic minorities in Croydon, after abortive council consultations last year.

In "celebrating diversity," Croydon Council should be endeavouring to ensure the re-establishment of a Race Equality Council, which includes case work, run by Croydon people for Croydon people, in the very near future.
