AN INQUEST has opened following the death of a bricklayer, who fell from the first floor of a building and suffered a serious injury head injury.
David Shayler, 53, of High Street, Ryde, was working at a site in Atkinson Drive, Newport, on October 13, last year, when he fell, Isle of Wight Coroner’s Court heard today (Tuesday).
He was transferred to Southampton General Hospital, although was later transferred back to the Island. He died on October 19. Initial findings from a post mortem revealed he had died from a head injury.
The inquest was adjourned until July 11.
