An independent film maker is hoping to put the comedy back into Harrow.

Having lined up celebrity names to star in his project, writer and director Brian Moore has also secured partial funding from Ealing Council.

He will be shooting a 20-minute film in and around Harrow in June.

The 34-year-old, of Tudor Way, a secretary for GlaxoWellcome in Greenford, wrote the screenplay called 'Pat' after a friend had a bizarre car accident involving a cow and its dung ,, he did not want to let the tale go by unrecorded.

But he is also a serious social commentator and uses comedy and films to highlight some hard hitting issues.

'I wanted to expose my thoughts and views about certain issues between police and the ethnic community, and about the quality of real friendship,' he said. 'And that's what this film is about, friendship, portrayed through comedy.'

The gist of the film is a friendship tested by a possible jackpot lottery win.

'This film challenges stereotypes, no character is what you would imagine,' he explained.

Hollyoaks actress Lynda Rooke, who plays Jill Osbourne in the Channel 4 soap, plays the lead and Normski, of late 80s BBC2 series Def II fame, has a cameo role. Brian has been working in films for more than ten years and has an impressive list of credits.

One documentary TV viewers may recall was made for the BBC. Divided by Rape was about a Sikh woman who shocked her community by alleging she had been raped by a Sikh priest. He has also directed videos for Alexander O'Neal.

But to get this film off the ground Brian needs more sponsorship.

He is hoping local firms will be interested in film credits for sponsorship, or even payment in kind from a catering company.
