A FORMER bus depot owned by the Isle of Wight Council has been sold for £205,000, paving the way for the development of the site.

The depot at Whitcombe Road, Carisbrooke, was previously used by the now-defunct Wightbus service.

The purchaser owns land surrounding the site and has expressed an interest in building new industrial units there.

The planning department has said any residential application would be resisted.
