Barnet player-boss Tony Cottee takes on an old adversary on Saturday knowing that his side needs to start winning to make the play-offs.

Jan Molby, manager of Kidderminster, used to wear the red of Liverpool while Cottee plied his trade across Stanley Park at Everton.

They havent been on a good run recently, said Cottee. So hopefully it is a good time to play them.

Three points will be all thats on the Barnet managers mind, however, as the gap between the Underhill club and the last play-off spot is now ten points.

He said: I believe we can still make them but we have to go on an unbeaten run. Three wins and two draws is no good, we need wins. The games are ticking away so we need to start it soon.

Another way of looking at it is that there are 57 points to play for and we have to look to gain as many as possible.

League leaders Chesterfield were held to a draw on Saturday and Cottee wants to see that form repeated in other games.

It has been the big problem since I came to the club, he said. Weve been good and bad. Our away form especially needs more consistency we blow hot and cold.

To that end Cottee is still hoping to bring in some new players to build the team in his own image but admits he needs to cut back on the current squad before doing that.

He said: Im looking all the time for new players. We have a squad of 29 pros and some of them will need to move before new ones come in.

I want to build a team that is capable of getting us out of Division Three hopefully that will be this season but, if not, then next.
