STAFF at an Isle of Wight Holland and Barrett store were the bees knees last Saturday when they donned fancy dress and staged a fun day to raise funds for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

Staff at the Ryde shop have so far raised £355, thanks to their efforts on the day and more donations are still to come in.

The store staged a raffle and bake sale with prizes donated by businesses, including three cut and blow dries, a hot stone massage, a car wash, an iPod speaker system and a pizza meal deal.

Louise Diffey, from the store, said: "The raffle and bake sale went really well and we were still having some great raffle prizes donated by businesses right up until Saturday morning.

"We couldn’t have done it without the support of local businesses and our loyal customers."
