CLOTHING institution Cameo of Cowes is closing after 45 years of trading.
The well-known shop was established in Southampton in 1972 and relocated to Bath Road, Cowes, in 1985.
The popular store sells unclaimed lost property, including designer goods, as well as fancy dress.
The proprietor, Joan Holland, announced the news on Facebook this week.
She wrote: "Sad news I'm afraid folks. After 45 wonderful years of trading I'm sorry to have to say that due to old age and health problems, I will have to make this the final year of trading for Cameo of Cowes.
"We are hoping to clear most of our 'mountains' of stock by the end of August, so don't miss out on all the bargains.
"Thank you all for your loyal custom over the years."
