THE Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking new board members to help guide it through sweeping health service reforms.

In preparation for becoming an NHS Foundation Trust, it is looking for a non-executive member and two designate non-executive directors with the skills and experience to make a difference to the lives of Island people. The trust treats around 90,000 patients a year, has 3,100 employees and an income of around £160m.

Chairman Danny Fisher said: "To be considered, you should have the necessary skills, experience and competences required by the organisation, including senior or board-level experience gained in a complex corporate organisation in one or more of the following areas — clinical and healthcare services, partnership working with the private sector, strategic financial planning skills or the legal sector.

"We’re looking for those who can make a real difference at a strategic level to the board of directors who oversee the organisation, which is the major provider of secondary healthcare on the Island."

An information session, giving people the chance to find out more about the roles and the work of the trust, will be held at the St Mary’s Hospital conference room on Monday, August 13, from 5pm to 6.30pm.

For information about the posts and how to apply, visit www.appointments.org.uk or call 0113 394 6744.
