CANCER information and support specialists will be coming to the Isle of Wight for two days next week thanks to the Macmillan charity.

Macmillan’s cancer support mobile service will open in St Thomas’s Square, Newport, on Wednesday and Thursday.

A team of specialists will be available to offer free, confidential advice and support to anyone with a concern or question relating to cancer.

Amanda Cummings, Macmillan mobile cancer information and support specialist, said: "Around 870 people in the Isle of Wight NHS Primary Care Trust receive a cancer diagnosis every year and each of these people require support.

"They need more than medical help. They also need practical, emotional and financial support."

The mobile unit will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily in the square.

For further information, call Macmillan on 0808 808 00 00 or visit www.macmillan.org.uk.
