POLICE seized 12 plants believed to be cannabis, from an address in Newport last week.
Officers from Newport Safer Neighbourhoods team discovered the plants at an address in Collingwood Road, last Tuesday evening.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis and is due to appear in court.
The arrest is not linked to a raid on a house in Garden Way, Newport, the following day, according to police.
That raid led to the arrest and cautioning of a 31-year-old man for possession of cannabis.
A police spokesman said anyone with information can contact police on 101. Mini-com users can phone phone 18001 101 or information can be given anonymously by contacting the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
