CANTINA Ventnor, one of the Island's smallest restaurants, has been listed by The Guardian newspaper as one of the country's top breakfast destinations.

In a supplement on Saturday, The 50 Best Breakfast Places in the UK, Cantina featured as one of ten eateries in the South of England.

It is "a superbly tasty little restaurant, dinky and unassuming", according to writer, Zoe Williams.

She recommended the "outrageously nice" shakshuka — "baked eggs in a chilli, sticky, tomato quagmire".

Proprietor Klaus Kuhnke, who opened Cantina in 2014, said: "It is exciting to be on The Guardian's best breakfast list, a reflection of the hard work of the kitchen and front-of-house teams."
