COWES RNLI lifeboat went to the aid of a man who capsized his kayak in choppy seas off Gurnard on Saturday (25).
Although the Isle of Wight lifeboat was quickly on the scene, the man and his kayak had been helped to shore by a companion in another kayak, said an RNLI spokesman.
Lifeboat crewman Patrick Moreton swam to the shore to check on the condition of the rescued man, who was found to be uninjured, but exhausted from being in the sea for about 30 minutes.
The lifeboat took him back to East Lepe beach, where he had launched from earlier that afternoon, and ensured the other kayaker also returned to Lepe safely.
