Feltz meanz tearz

Former chat show host Vanessa Feltz gave a candid account of the collapse of her marriage and her troubled career during an emotionally charged talk in aid of charity.

And the, at times almost tearful, television star revealed she was not ruling out a return of her own chat show despite the controversy surrounding the use of false guests during the last series.

Vanessa entertained more than 200 guests at the fundraising ñLadies Lunchî in aid of The Norwood Ravenswood charity based in The Broadway, Stanmore on Tuesday last week.

ñNorwood Ravenswood is particularly appealing to me as a mother of two children,î said Vanessa. ñYou have to have tremendous empathy with what they are trying to do.î

She admitted that although she enjoys her new series, Talking TV, she would not rule out a return to chat shows.

ñI used to love doing it and was very happy with it. It was a very successful format and people are always interested in people,î she said.

A Norwood Ravenswood spokeswoman said: ñShe spoke about her life over the last couple of years. It was moving but also a very funny talk with a great deal of humour.î

The charity hopes the event organised by its 21st century committee at StanmoreÍs Apollonia restaurant will raise more than £4,000 to help employ a part time worker at its toy library in Bethnal Green.
