UPDATED 15:48*

A CAR has overturned in an accident near Brading this morning (Tuesday).

Isle of Wight ambulance service and police were called to the scene shortly before 8am.

A 26-year-old woman was taken to St Mary's Hospital suffering from suspected neck injuries.

The car, a red Ka, overturned and rolled into a field between the Hare and Hounds pub and Knighton Shute.

The woman was treated for whiplash and has since been released from hospital.

Her father, who did not wish to be named, praised passers-by and emergency services for helping his daughter.

He said: "There are a number of people who took the time and trouble to stop and others who phoned the ambulance.

"In particular there were three gentlemen who ran down and helped her from the car.

"My wife and I just want to say a big thank you to them all."
