Binstead Primary School in Ryde Carnival on the Isle of Wight in 2011.
CROWDS will throng the streets of Ryde for what is the Isle of Wight’s biggest, and reputed to be Britain’s oldest, carnival.
'King Carnival’ moves off from its Canoe Lake assembly point at 6.15 this evening to wend its way through the town.
The main procession follows yesterday’s children’s carnival and comes before the illuminated parade on September 1 which attracts up to 40,000 people.
The carnival dates from 1887.
