PUBLIC loos in Bembridge could receive a facelift costing almost £20,000 next year, thanks to a grant of £9,377 from the Isle of Wight Council, which would be match-funded by the village’s parish council.

Bembridge parish councillors agreed to make a bid for the cash, which will come from the Isle of Wight Council’s economic improvement fund at their meeting.

Chairman of the council, Cllr Gordon Kendall, said: "This is about the village as a tourist centre. These facilities are used by visitors and it also about the well being of the community."
