A CHARITY that supports victims of sexual and domestic abuse has received a cash boost.
Yellow Door, which works with people on the Isle of Wight and across Southampton and Western Hampshire, has been given £300 from the Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund.
The charity, formally known as Southampton Rape Crisis, was established in 1985 and works to reduce the negative impacts of sexual and domestic abuse.
It offers counselling and therapeutic services to men, women and families that have suffered abuse and also reaches out to schools and the community to promote healthy and safe relationships.
Tara Doel, Yellow Door's business manager, said: "This donation from the Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund means that much needed art and play resources can be purchased.
"These will be used within our YP Therapeutic Service where we work with those aged 11-18 who have been affected by sexual abuse.
"For many it can be really hard to talk, so art and play materials are a really good way for them to express how they are feeling and start aiding recovery."
The Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund helps small community projects, groups and charities across the UK and Ireland by donating cash awards.
