A SERIES of events were held in libraries across the Isle of Wight on Saturday to celebrate National Library Day.
Sandown Library held an open day to encourage more people to join the library, which included an African-themed performance from the Spirit of the Drums.
Freshwater Library celebrated both National Library Day and the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens's birth and at Niton Library, author Diana Kimpton read to children.
Volunteers gathered at Shanklin Library to celebrate the official handover of the facility.
