Chain ferry needs further repairs

By a County Press reporter

Thursday, April 10, 2014

THE COWES chain ferry is set to come back into service, late tomorrow evening (Friday) or on Saturday morning, following annual maintenance and an inspection by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA).

The Isle of Wight Council said however, the ferry requires further repairs that can only be completed in dry dock and will be taken out of service again on Monday, April 22, for approximately one week.

Diversions will be in place for motorists and a passenger launch will be available connecting Cowes and East Cowes.
