ISLAND charity Challenge and Adventure are closing their charity shop at the end of the month.

The charity, which works with disadvantaged young people on the Island, has operated the store on Lugley Street, Newport for the past give years. However, although the shops makes money, it hasn't made enough money to support a full time manager.

Fundraising manager, Karen Eeles, has been running the shop for the last year.

She said: "Rather than the take the shop on for another five years, we will be focussing on our fundraising events. We already have 13 booked in for this year.

"I want to thank all the volunteers for their support because we couldn't have done it without them."

Karen will now concentrate on the charity’s events for 2018 from her office at The Old Grammar School. The next event will be the annual Duck Race next month.
