THE highly-successful Dartford Harriers Athletics Club will be at the Priory Centre promoting sport and fitness awareness for the next three days.

Athletes will be in the Priory Centre on February 19, 20 and 21 encouraging members of the public to come and try various athletic events at the club's headquarters in Central Park Dartford.

Dartford Harriers, in conjunction with Central Park Athletics Ltd are offering "Come and try it" sessions on February 28, March 7, 21 and 28. They are open to anyone aged between 11 and 80 and will last for two hours. The cost is 50 pence per person per session - for more information please call 01322 270967.

In September last year Olympic javelin medallist Steve Backley opened the Harriers' new £400,000 clubhouse and was given a surprise when he was presented with a special mini-javelin on a mahogany base.

Dartford Harriers are required to purchase season tickets to use the new facilities. Lucky Yvonne Underwood was awarded a sports equipment voucher by Central Park Athletics Ltd as she was the first person to apply for her ticket.
