A CHRISTMAS tin appeal, which aims to deliver some festive cheer to troops risking their lives overseas, was officially launched in Sandown.
Wight Hope is working alongside uk4u, a charity which distributes Christmas gift boxes to soldiers serving in places such as Iraq and Afghanistan over the festive period.
The appeal was launched at Broadlea Primary School.
Bill Wyke, Wight Hope co-founder, said: "If any groups, organisations or schools would like someone to give them a talk or see one of the Christmas gift boxes, give me a ring.
"I’d like to thank everyone who helped make the launch a huge success."
Wight Hope is planning a series of sales to raise money for the project. For more information, contact Bill on 01983 405471.
