I'M sure you will all join me in sending deepest sympathy to the close family of Mrs Norah Cross who died last week. Norah had lived in Plomer Green Avenue for over 50 years. Also to the close family of Tommy Andrews who died last week at the age of 83 years, Tommy also lived in Plomer Green Avenue for many years, and then moved to live in a cottage on Commonside a few years ago. Our thoughts are with you.

I would like to send belated sympathy to the close family of Mrs Betty Wakeling who died a few weeks ago. Betty who was 98 years had also lived in Plomer Green Avenue for over 50 years until a year ago, when she then went into a residential home.

BUCKS County Council has put forward a proposal that children leaving The Downley School next year to go on to secondary education will have to go to either The Cressex School or Highcrest which are both in the catchment area for Downley. Many parents feel that they are not being given enough choice with regard to which schools their children will attend, and await the final outcome of the County's proposal due in April.
