A CLIFF fall occurred near Brook in an area popular with dog walkers earlier this week.
The picture was taken by Freshwater resident, Ian Gray, who was out walking his dogs with a friend when he noticed the clay and sandstone had tumbled down to the beach.
"It’s a popular area for dog walkers and I’ve seen people and families sitting next to the cliff on many occasions. It’s lucky no-one was underneath.
"It has covered quite a lot of the beach area, between Compton Bay and Brook at Hannover Point," he said.
Tony Tutton, property manager for the National Trust which owns the land, said: "Cliff falls are a common occurrence. We have beach safety signs at the access points to the beach warning people not to sit under the cliffs.
"The cliffs are relatively low in that area and people should be aware they do naturally erode and be careful."
