Mayor of Hertsmere Bill Hogan is supporting a campaign to make life easier for blind and partially-sighted people.

A recent survey carried out by Guide Dogs for the Blind revealed that 95 per cent of vision-impaired people found overgrown hedges and low tree branches to be a problem when walking around.

Mr Hogan is encouraging gardeners to cut back their trees and hedges this spring. "This is an easy way in which we can make a real difference to safety on the streets for guide dog owners and other visually impaired people in our community," he said.
