Cocktails and cake help nurses celebrate

Nursing students from the Isle of Wight celebrated their graduation with a ball at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Isle of Wight.

NURSING students from the Isle of Wight let their hair down after three years of study with a grand ball.

Of the 35 successful students who graduated from the University of Southampton, 23 of them and their partners celebrated in style at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club, Fishbourne, on Saturday (1).

Bar staff created special nurse-inspired cocktails, such as the Night Shift and Bed Pans and a special graduation cake was made by the parents of student nurse Paula Russell, of Newport.

Ball co-organiser Kate Chillingworth, 27, of Battery Road, Cowes, who graduated with an advanced diploma in adult nursing, said: "It was a great night and a nice way to let off steam after three years’ study. The weather held out for us and we all enjoyed ourselves."
