Collision at roundabout

ISLE of Wight emergency services were called to a collision involving a car and a bicycle yesterday evening (Monday).

The accident occurred at St Mary's Roundabout, Newport, at around 7.20pm.

The ambulance service confirmed one person had been taken to hospital, but they were unable to give further details.

Police said the car involved was a white Suzuki Alto and it was believed the casualty had not suffered serious injuries.

No diversions were in place according to police at 7.50pm.

*A police spokesman said today (Tuesday) that the cyclist was a 32-year-old man from Newport, who received minor injuries.

 

A police investigation is continuing, the spokesman said.
