A Radlett man is facing a crown court trial after customs men allegedly found 30 kilos of cocaine and 2.5 tonnes of cannabis in a raid on a Hatfield warehouse.

On Thursday, Belmash magistrates said Michael Michael, 40, of Loom Place, should remain in custody until he appears at Woolwich Crown Court in November.

Together with Lynn Michael of the same address, Xanthos Michael of Barnet and Janice Marlborough of Bushey, he stands accused of conspiracy to import cocaine, conspiring to import cannabis and conspiring to handle drugs-money.

Michael is one of twenty men and women facing charges of being involved in a £10million drugs ring, smashed by customs men in April.

One of the group -- which includes former Page Three model Tracey Kirby, 32 -- used his shoelaces to hang himself at Belmarsh prison last weekend, the court heard.

Prosecuting counsel David Richards told magistrates the 54-year-old from Hayes had "committed suicide at the weekend so that's one less defendant."
