Collision in Shanklin

THREE vehicles have collided in Shanklin this afternoon (Monday) according to the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

They were called to Downland View after a report of the crash, in which one person is believed to be trapped, at 1.17pm.

Police confirmed they were called to the collision, which they believed was close to the junction of Landguard 

Manor Road and Sandy Lane. There were reports of two casualties, however details of their injuries were not yet available.

The vehicles involved a Renault Twingo, Renault Clio and Ford Fiesta.

*At around 3pm a fire and rescue service spokeswoman said an elderly woman had been helped from a vehicle and left in the care of paramedics.

Isle of Wight ambulance service confirmed one person was taken to hospital, complaining of neck pain.
