THREE cars have collided on the dual carriageway this evening (Tuesday), according to the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.

The crash was reported shortly after 5pm.

No-one was trapped, however the fire service has been involved in making the scene — on the southbound carriageway — safe, a spokeswoman said.

One person was said to be 'walking wounded.'

*Island Roads said on Twitter at 6.03pm police had opened both southbound lanes of the dual carriageway.
