OVERCAST skies and drizzle didn’t stop hundreds of people lining the streets of Cowes last Thursday evening to enjoy the town’s annual carnival parade.
Colourful floats, marching bands and brilliantly costumed groups wound their way through the town’s High Street in a procession led by Cowes’ carnival queens.
Joining in the fun were Imperial Storm Troopers and other well-loved characters from the hit Star Wars movies, dancing penguins and sea cadets from TS Osborne, who were joining in the parade for the first time.
Chair of Cowes Carnival Lynn Hammond, added: "Entries are up without a doubt and we are getting a lot more local support. We really want Cowes people to take part."
