THE second in a series of hard-hitting videos, police hope will help cut drink and drug impaired driving on the Isle of Wight this Christmas, has been released today (Tuesday).

The video features an interview with Hayley and Alan Stayley, the aunt and uncle of Evey Staley, who was killed in a crash with a drink driver who had also been smoking cannabis.

"People just don't think that it will happen to them, but they need to get out of that mindset, because it does happen," said Alan.

Yesterday (Monday), Evey's parents Neal and Penny, spoke of their ongoing heartache following the death of their ten-year-old daughter.

More videos are due to be released by police this week, focussing on different people affected by the crash, which happened outside the Staley's family home in Newport Road, between Cowes and Newport.
