LUCA VIALLI is hoping his players can impress in the face of adversity.

He said: "It has been a difficult season all round what with injuries and suspensions and lack of luck when you need it the most. We will cope and we have enough quality even though we have players injured and suspended.

"In difficult circumstances it can bring the best out of the players."

The Hornets returned from Spain ready to tackle the final third of the campaign, determined to turn the season round.

"We have all realised that we have run out of time and we have a few games in which to try and make it for the play-offs. Every game is a cup final from now until the end of the season," said the manager.

"We have the ability but our problems have been more mental. We are trying to work on the confidence and self-belief of the players and hopefully we will get at response."

Looking ahead to the Burnley game, Vialli recalled the 1-0 defeat at Turf Moor.

"I was a bit disappointed with the way we started, conceding a definitely avoidable goal. Then we had

our chances to level the game. We were supposed to fight back as we were losing the game but we did not put too much pressure on them.

"It wasn't our best performance. I have now made two loan signings and one short-term signing until the end of the season.

"We definitely needed to bring in Wayne through lack of personnel ,but we have also needed to change the trend of the season."
