COWES lifeboat investigated a small upturned dinghy last night (Wednesday).
A crew were called at 8pm to assist a Coastguard team on the beach at Thorness Bay.
On arrival, both crews got the dinghy to the beach, emptied it and established it had been drifting. No person was believed to be in difficulty.
The lifeboat crew were being trained in the use of radar by the newest helm and used the radar to safely navigate the boat in choppy sea conditions.
