A CREW suffering from severe seasickness and fatigue were rescued by an Isle of Wight lifeboat this morning (Monday).

Bembridge RNLI was called at 7.23am to a report that a 9.7 metre vessel, travelling from France to the UK with two crew members on board, was in trouble three miles south east of Bembridge.

John Keyworth, Bembridge RNLI spokesman, said: "The two crew members on board the yacht were suffering from severe fatigue and one of them had actually collapsed due to severe sea-sickness.

"We sent two of our crew onto the yacht and set up a tow and took the vessel to Haslar at Portsmouth, where the crew members were checked over."
